Youth Wrestling Opportunity

Keith Jannett is the wrestling coach at Archer HS. He has organized a youth wrestling program at the high school the last several years that has been very successful. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, GCPS will not allow any outside groups or students who are not enrolled in high school to use the school facilities. Coach Jannett is considering finding an alternate location that could be used to continue the youth wrestling program, but he needs to get an idea of how many people would be interested in their child participating in the program.

If you would be interested in participating in the program, please contact Coach Jannett at keith.jannett@gcpsk12.org.

*This program is independently run and not a part of the Archer Athletic Association programs.

AAA Rec Basketball is BACK!!

Thanks to a tremendous amount of energy, work, and determination AAA will be offering a Rec Basketball league for the kids in our community this year! Many thanks to our Basketball Director Bryan Small and his board along with the support or the Gwinnett Co. Dept. of Parks and Recreation for making this possible.

We will be offering teams for ages 7-14 years old. All practices and games will take place at the basketball gym at Rhodes Jordan Park which should result in a more stable and consistent schedule for practices and games.

Registration fee to participate is $180. Click on the link below to go to the registration page of our website or click on the Registration tab above.

Fall Sports & COVID 19

I am sure that there are many questions, concerns, and uncertainty in the community about the status of our fall sports programs and how the recent announcement from GCPS concerning the cancellation of in-person instruction may affect fall sports.

First, please be assured that the first priority of AAA is to provide a safe environment for the children in our community to enjoy the physical, social, and emotional benefits of participating in team sports activities. If we did not believe that we could provide this level of safety, we would not hesitate to suspend or cancel our sports programs. The AAA Executive Board and Sports Directors have been in close contact with local, state, and national health officials and sports organizations to ensure that we can provide a safe environment for our participants and volunteers.

We believe that we have procedures in place to ensure this safe environment for our fall sports programs. We will be offering ALL fall sports programs for the children in our community: football, cheer, baseball, softball, and soccer).

If you would like to review the specific guidelines and protocols that we have in place for our fall sports, I would encourage you to click on the 'About Us' tab at the top of this page and select 'COVID 19 Docs' to view the policies and procedures that AAA as adopted to provide a safe environment for our children and volunteers.

Please feel free to email any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have to president@playaaasports.com or contact the director of the sport you are interested in participating in.
